There is nothing like the deep, saturated blue-violet color of fine quality iolite gemstones, such as the strand found in this necklace. The bold colors and patterns were assembled thinking of the crisp lines and shadows from the strong Mediterranean sun and a life near the sea. The gemstones are woven through sterling silver chain attached to gold-plate fishtail chain that shimmers and undulates like the elusive catch.

Care & cleaning: Beading cord may be kinked or broken through hard jerks or severed through prolonged exposure to rough or sharp edges; store necklace flat when not in use to prevent stretching or kinking cord. Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on silver.

The nature of the design (gemstones woven through chain) doesn't lend itself to harsh play so I recommend keeping this necklace out of reach. Iolite is a tough gemstone, but the top-drilled holes through the stones can be delicate. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.

Not all jewelry - particularly beaded jewelry - work well with all varieties of necklines. The 20" necklace length means the necklace will lay flat and look balanced with crew necks, boat necks, turtle necks and shallow scoop necks. It will also work with a high or low V-neck, but the necklace is likely to compete with the neckline of standard V-necks; the same goes for collared shirts.
