Bohemia was a kingdom in the Holy Roman Empire and a province in the Hapsburgs' Austrian Empire. It was bounded by Austria, Bavaria, Saxony, and Lusatia, and it has formed much of Czech Republic since 1993, following the Velvet Divorce (split of Czechoslovakia into the Czech Republic and Slovakia). Westerners often associate "bohemians" with those who lead an unconventional life and few permanent ties in pursuit of an artistic lifestyle, such as those in early 19th century Paris. Yet, the history stretches back much further to the nomadic Roma people. These 3" drop earrings feature leaflike enamelled copper drops and patina brass drops with folk designs of the region. Round vermeil ear wires.

These longer 3" drop earrings are moderate weight and may interfere with collared shirts or jacket lapels. However, they make excellent, colorful statement accessories.
