As a name, Dione is simply the feminine form of Zeus, and her role in Greek mythology is
complicated. She was a Titan, burn of Uranus (Sky) and Gaea (Earth), unless she was an Oceanid,
daughter of Oceanus and Tethys. Like many ancient goddesses, she partnered with Zeus and
was mother to Aphrodite, unless she was mother to Dionysus. She was central to Greek mythology and
part of the pantheon, though her role is less emphasized today. This short 14" apatite necklace
shares the quality of being this or that. With its small, clear blue apatite gemstones, it is an eye-catching
choker necklace, unless it's worn doubled as a lovely bracelet. Tiny opalescent glass seedbeads space the
gemstones, and it fastens easily with a 14kt gold-fill magnetic clasp.
