Although we often use "flotsam & jetsam" to describe odds and ends, each has a specific
maritime meaning: flotsam is material accidently entering the water, as through a shipwreck, and
jetsam is material deliberately thrown overboard to lighten a vessel's load. They both are
debris in the water, but the distinction can be important for valuables; flotsam may be claimed by
the original owner but jetsam may be claimed by whoever finds it. In this necklace, an interesting
jumble of glass and silver combine for a nice sea-themed collection of odds and ends. The sterling silver
S-hook clasp and chain can be used to adjust the necklace length from 18"-21".
