I'll admit this necklace is not at all practical: the lampwork glass pendants are large and clunky, but oh so fun and unusual! The snake loops beautifully through the paddle shaped foil-backed pendant and they look awesome together - they are simply really, really big (approximately 7" in length). I paired them with a 36" hand-dyed crinkled silk ribbon for maximum flexibility of length adjustment, but even so, they will be unwieldy. The name refers to the famous line from The Godfather 2: "keep your friends close but your enemies closer", and it would be tough to bring a snake much closer to one's heart!
