Red and blue litmus papers are used to test for acidity or alkalinity in a substance. Acidic items turns blue litmus paper red and base items turn red litmus paper blue; items with neutral pH don't affect the paper colors. This 38" necklace of rounded tourmaline pebbles is like the results of a litmus test, the colors changing from red-purple to blue. The color change is gradual and elegant, making for a graceful strand that may easily be doubled as a 17" necklace or wrapped multiple times as a bracelet. The sterling silver magnetic clasp makes fastening a snap.
