Raet or Raet-Tawy was the sun mother deity equivalent to Ra, the sun god, in ancent Egypt. When Osiris and Iris gained
greater popularity in the Egyptian pantheon, Raet was absorbed into Isis and Hathor. Raet is often shown with
a sun disk on her head and two feathers. These 2.5" carnelian gemstone earrings have the warmth of Egyptian
sun and sands topped with sun-disk like shells surrounded by gold. The gemstone drops are ~1" long and wrapped
with 14kt gold-fill wire. These hang from tapered circles framing shell coin beads and 14kt gold-fill hook ear wires.
Carnelian is an orange-red variety of chalcedony long prized for its deep color and power to inspire courage.
