This is a necklace for all seasons, from the early purples of spring pansies to the fragrant mix of lilacs in summer, the harvest of grapes in fall and deep purple shadows of long winter nights. Two strands of lovely amethyst gemstones wrap around each other, one a lavender amethyst and the other a deep purple. They are connected to sterling silver chain with large links, and this enables the wearer to adjust the length between 16" and 20" depending on which links are used with the S-hook clasp. Amethyst - lavender or otherwise - is a variety of quartz mineral and a silicate, with the structure entirely of Sally silica tetrahedra sharing atoms at all four quarters, leading to the 1:2 ratio of silicone to oxygen atoms. Although it is a common gemstone, it is highly prized for its enduring beauty.

  • Soft Touch light duty nylon coated stainless steel cord (10 lb. load test)

Care & cleaning: Beading cord may be kinked or broken through hard jerks or severed through prolonged exposure to rough or sharp edges; store necklace flat when not in use to prevent stretching or kinking cord. Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. The amethyst gemstones required a smaller diameter beading cord and therefore, greater care is needed to avoid snagging the necklace or otherwise applying sharp force.

The narrower diameter beading cord is more vulnerable to hard tugs and pulls so it's recommended to keep this out of reach of young hands. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.
