A lovely fall day in Ashland, Oregon's Lithia Park is the inspiration for this sparkling necklace of garnet and Swarovski crystal. Ashland boasts one of America's oldest Elizabethan theaters, styled after the famous Globe theater in London, and every year the Oregon Shakespeare Festival presents a variety of Shakespeare's plays. There are few greater joys than strolling the park before or after a show, when the sun in shining through the golden leaves amid the sounds of rippling laughter and water streaming over stones. This golden-hued 24" necklace with golden garnet, Swarovski crystal, and 14kt gold-fill brings back those evenings. The amber color of the hessonite garnet is due to inclusions of manganese and iron in the crystalline structure. Genuine Swarovski crystal cubes add lovely flashes of color, like reflections off the water. The beads are strung on natural silk cord for strength and superior drape. The necklace fastens easily with a large vermeil toggle clasp attached to open circle link gold-fill chain.

Length: necklace - 24"

Materials:

  • hessonite garnet rondelle beads
  • Swarovski crystal beads
  • 14kt gold-fill beads and components
  • vermeil toggle clasp
  • natural silk cord

Care & cleaning: Beading cord may be kinked or broken through hard jerks or severed through prolonged exposure to rough or sharp edges; store necklace flat when not in use to prevent stretching or kinking cord. Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on metal.

The beading cord and components are robust, but trouble could ensue if a youngster grabbed one but not both of the strands. As with all beaded jewelry: do not let young toddlers chew on it.

This 24" necklace works well with a variety of necklines and materials, though the lightweight design wears best with thinner, supple fabrics.
