Like normal obsidian, rainbow obsidian forms from quickly cooling lava. However, what sets rainbow obsidian apart is the microscopic crystals and bubbles of mica within the volcanic glass that give it an iridescent cat-eye like glow in sunlight. These 1 1/2" earrings feature 12mm rainbow obsidian rounds with subdued fire suspended from 14kt gold-wire rounded earwires. The classic combination of black and gold make for a useful and elegant accessory.

Care & cleaning: Clean with warm soapy water and avoid chemical or abrasive cleaners. Use a soft jewelry polishing cloth to clean tarnish appearing on gold.
