A supernova is the ultimate expression of what happens when balance between powerful forces
is lost. In a massive star, the pressure from the hot core counteracts gravity that draws gas
inward. When the star cools and radiant pressure lessens, gravity acts to collapse the star.
The shock of the collapse creates shock waves that blow apart the outer layers of the star,
leaving a hot, luminous nebula and a small dense core. These 3" dangle earrings with
spirodoodle designs show denser hypotrochoid cores with radiant curves sweeping outward.
The designs on watercolor paper are protected with glaze on patina brass teardrops between
