Ice-blue chunky aquamarine gemstones in this 18" are like glacier pieces falling into rising seas, and the mottled feldspar stones are the colors of the tundra, with the warming underlying permafrost. Typically, aquamarine gemstones are blue to blue-green transparent or translucent crystals, but as a beryl, aquamarine can also form in an opaque matrix, more like the squared nuggets in this necklace. The cool pale hues of the Arctic Circle are silvery smooth with silver-plated brass and coated wood spacers, and the clasp is an easy to fasten silver-plated brass hook and eye closure. Similar to the effects of climate change, this necklace makes itself felt.

This mid-length 18" necklace works well with higher necklines and thinner materials. The gemstones are larger sizes and moderate weight, so it drapes nicely but it is unlikely to fit well under collars or jackets.
