For most, the season of sunshine brings pleasant warmth and vibrant curling growth. In the Southwest, we seek shade from the shimmering heat and measure the days in ice cubes. Yet, all places enjoy the longer days and relaxing evenings of summer.

The designs for the summer season include plants, places, and pleasures of the outdoors. Jewelry designs feature freshwater pearls and sunny, bright colors. New card packages feature flowering plants and excerpts from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. The rich colors make for a vibrant, memorable greeting from the leisure places.

Round forms make their appearance in summer designs. Deep green colored baroque freshwater pearls speak a language of style and ease in the Body Language necklace. Pearls appear in earrings (Phoenix Tears), bracelets (Baby's Breath & Little Mermaid), and with owls (New Moon). Sterling silver circles cascade in shining drops in the Circle Drop earrings, and even more circles are found in the earrings More Circles.

Even in the desert, the long days and cooler nights of summer draw us outside. Necklaces like Peonies are inspired by the bountiful floral beauty of the season, and earrings like Headwaters take their name from places to see. If a place is away from city lights, then it may be a great location to view our Milky Way galaxy, as it stretches above the summer's night skies. Necklaces like Star Swirls capture the imagination associated with the starry heavens. The sweeping curves in these pieces and others take their inspiration from nature.

Plant inspired designs continue with pieces like Allium Ampeloprasum and Meadowsweet. Leek-colored prasiolite gemstones make for a stunning jewelry set, lightweight and airy for easy summer wear. Pale pink morganite gemstones make the multistrand Meadowsweet necklace a soft, gleaming piece for summer outings.

Flowering plants are one of the new themed card packages for summer. In Magnoliophyta, card designs showcase black and white illustrations from botanical catalogs of a variety of flowering plants from the phylum Magnoliophyta over brilliantly colored backgrounds. In Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare provides the words and artist Edmund Dulac provides the fantastic illustrations, taken from the pages of his children's fairy tale book. Other themed card packages include WPA posters of the national parks (Take a Hike), woodcuts of medeiaval villages (It Takes a Village), and black and white photographs of places across the United States (The World in Black and White).

Alternatively, daily images can brighten someone's day like golden sunlight. The Gift Center offers calendar stacks, collections of daily inspiration, in monthly packages from 1 to 4 months.
